What is a Cacao Ceremony?

A cacao ceremony is a ritual that opens up the heart through the use of cacao.

Origins source back to 1900 BC and were originally conducted by the Maya and ancient Aztec civilizations. It is an antioxidant with many superfood properties. Cacao is a brain stimulator and heart opener, therefore, during a ceremony, one is likely to feel a shift in their energy and mood in a positive way. An open heart allows us to live in kindness, compassion and love.

FAQ:

The Science

Cocoa flavanols are known to have a positive effect on blood vessel health and circulation. Good blood flow and circulation enables red blood cells to deliver oxygen and nutrients to vital organs like the heart. This is why cacao is known to be an energetic heart opener. Having good blood circulation will speed up the bodies natural healing process, can support healthy skin, and regulate high blood pressure.

Does ceremonial cacao get you “high?”

“If you’re thinking about the psychedelic-type of consciousness-altering “high”, then the answer is no. Ceremonial cacao in no way makes you feel “high” in the way a consciousness-altering ingestible like psilocybin or cannabis does.

If you’re thinking about a strong-cup-of-coffee-type of altering “high”, then the answer is yes. Like coffee, ceremonial cacao is a stimulant that will alter your states of body and mind once ingested.”*

What’s the difference between ceremonial cacao vs regular cacao.

Ceremonial cacao should be organic, ethically-sourced, and minimally or traditionally processed pure cacao bean paste made from high-quality Criollo or Trinitario beans.”

My Cacao:
